I wish I had known this sooner
It's going to be hard, at least for a little bit, to not get melancholy when something reminds me of Mandy's wedding and the reception. We made some great memories that day. But now I'll always remember how that day was the last day I saw him alive. At one point we started talking about funerals (we were in the buffet line and it was a long line), maybe we had been talking about Ben, and he said that when it's his time to go, he doesn't want any tears, no crying, nothing sad because that's not how he lived. It's completely crazy that this even came up, and it's taking me some time, but I'm trying to get there.
I pulled this from Amber's Myspace blog about Joe:
"He loved his life, he loved his friends, no one could question that. At one point he was sitting next to me, and we were laughing at some of our friends dancing. He looked at me and said, "they're some crazy motherf***ers, but I love them. God, I really do.""
That's classic Joe. I'm really glad to know he said that of us.Labels: trying to deal
